OurHug

Terms of use

Last updated 15 September 2026. Using OurHug means agreeing to this. It is short on purpose.

What this is

OurHug is an app where a family keeps what it shares — a calendar, lists, school work, documents, photographs. It is run by Witawat M., one person in Bangkok, Thailand. It is not a company, and there is no team behind it.

Knowing that should shape what you trust it with. It is built carefully and backed up nightly, and it is still one person's project.

It is free, and what that means

OurHug costs nothing today. If that changes, existing families will be told well in advance and never billed without agreeing first.

While it is free there is no uptime guarantee. The server may be slow, restarting, or briefly unavailable. Do not make OurHug the only place something important exists — if a document would be a disaster to lose, keep the original somewhere too.

Your account

What you put in stays yours

Your photographs, documents, notes and everything else remain yours. We claim no ownership and no licence beyond what is needed to store them and show them back to your family.

We do not read your family's content. Nobody browses it, and it is never used to train anything.

What not to do with it

Do not use OurHug to store anything illegal, to hold material that is not yours to hold, or to attack the service — probing it, overloading it, or trying to reach another family's data. Any of those ends the account.

Ending it

You can close your family at any time from inside the app. It is immediate, reversible for seven days, and permanent after that.

We can suspend or end an account that breaks the section above, or if the service itself has to stop. If OurHug ever shuts down, you will get at least 60 days' notice and a way to take everything with you. That is a promise, not a courtesy — a family should never lose a year of photographs because somebody lost interest.

Where we stand if something goes wrong

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost time, or anything that follows from OurHug being unavailable or wrong. Since the service is free, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to what you have paid, which is nothing.

That is the standard position and it is worth being plain about it: this is the trade for a free app run by one person. It does not reduce our care — backups are checked and restores rehearsed — but it is what you are agreeing to.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, everyone with an account will be told inside the app before the change takes effect.

Which law

These terms are governed by the law of Thailand, and the Thai courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not take away protections your own country's law gives you.
